The primary role of the Orthodontic Dental Assistant is to assist the Dentist in the overall delivery of oral care and work independently to provide an exceptional patient experience. Dental Assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. Orthodontic Dental Assistants prepare patients for oral examination and assist other dental professionals in providing treatment to the teeth, mouth, and gums.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
- Sterilization and disinfection of all instruments and equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of each operatory in accordance with state applicable infection control guidelines
- Prepare tray setups for dental procedures and manage appropriate supplies in each operatory.
- Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care as directed by the Orthodontist
- Maintain strict compliance with all pertinent laws and regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, ADA, Dental Board)
- Record patient charting
- Support Dentist during treatment procedures
- Take digital x-rays
- Assist in managing and controlling supply inventory
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
- 1+ years experience in an ortho practice.
- Patient-focused, team player
- Exceptional customer service
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual in Mandarin (Preferred)
- Compensation: $34 - $36
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
