Summary
Provide department and job site support to ensure a competent high-quality professional installation and redeem estimated gross profits. Audits all required documents before the start of work. Ensures inclusion of all pertinent information. Ensures personnel performing the work are well informed on the scope of work and skill set to match the task. Perform project work as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes the following, however, other duties may be assigned. Direct and monitor staff in the preparation of requisitions on time for materials, equipment, and subcontracts. Secures cooperation of sales personnel as required. Directs and monitors staff in the development, communication, and redemption of schedules. Monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion of work. Assure all equipment, materials, and subcontracts are ordered and delivered on time. Audits required documents prior to the start of work and establishes & monitors guidelines to determine field labor requirements.

Understands and keeps the staff informed of sales objectives. Promotes new business and upgrading of existing agreements by instructing and directing staff to generate and report leads and sales opportunities. Support sales force on calls as required. Demonstrate ability to accurately determine job priorities by scheduling personnel and materials with the dispatcher. Maintain a master schedule showing current status and future plans for all projects current and backlogged. Prepare manpower forecast monthly.

Build rapport and productive working relationships with managers, supervisors, staff, field, and other personnel to influence decisions for purchasing, scheduling, installations, and work completion as well as the sales and business systems functions. Motivates team members and maintains high employee morale. Instruct and direct appropriate personnel to properly staff jobs to control labor costs. Promptly address customer complaints to ensure resolution and maintain long-term relationships.

Maximize effective cost control by proper staffing, training, tools, test equipment, and systems. Ensures procedures are in place to allow staff to complete all work in a cost-effective and high-quality manner.

Monitor billings and take action to ensure maximum cash flow. Assure compliance with company standards. Understand mechanical systems and appropriate codes and industry standards. Assure permits are secured where applicable.

Regularly review operation policies, procedures, and methods. Measure the effectiveness of existing programs, identify problems or weaknesses, and recommend new methods or corrective action. Establish policies and procedures necessary for smooth and timely internal administration of the controls department.

Develop and implement programs to improve the skills of staff as individuals as well as a group. Instruct, direct, and monitor staff in applying principles of cost/benefit to gain maximum utilization of company resources. Responsible for maintaining estimated budget goals. Effectively audits performance of field staff and follow-up; recommends appropriate personnel actions; i.e. hiring, firing, promotions, demotions, compensation, etc.

Continually build and maintain a network of contacts. Create a Central Candidate/Source file of potential recruits and sources. Provide support for any special projects as assigned by your manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises Project Installers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or five to seven years of related supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Qualifications/Skills/Abilities

Must possess a competent understanding of mechanical systems. Ability to identify problems and propose cost-effective solutions.

Physical Demands

Work performed is mostly in outdoor settings. Some work is performed in an office setting. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell.

The employee must occasionally lift up to seventy-five (75) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee normally works in outside weather conditions. The employee normally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is normally exposed to wet and/ or humid conditions, or airborne particles and confined spaces.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in the office, and moderate to loud in the field.
