The Seattle Police Department is seeking an Administrative Specialist II-BU to work in the Parking Enforcement Unit. The Parking Enforcement Unit requires a large amount of customer communication via email, mail, and over the telephone. This position reports to the Manager/Director and provides a full range of confidential, administrative clerical support to the Parking Enforcement Leadership group.
Required Qualifications:
Requires two years of office clerical support experience (or a combination of education, training and/or experience which provides evidence of the ability to perform work of the class).

Experience working with and assisting the public to resolve problems using effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Experience collaboratively working in a team environment with dynamic shifting priorities and time sensitivity.

Knowledge of the department’s computer systems and the ability to learn internal databases.

Possess a working knowledge of all laws and ordinances affecting parking enforcement.

Two years of customer service dealing with hostile and upset citizens.
Position Requirements:

Must pass a Seattle Police Department background investigation.

Must have a valid Driver’s license.

This position is an onsite position; the employee is expected to perform work in person. No remote work option is available for this position. Individual schedules will be based on agreement between the employee and their supervisor.

The full salary range for this position is $33.40 - $37.40 per hour.
New employees begin at Step 1 of the pay progression, which is $33.40 hourly. Current City employees’ starting rate of pay will be based on Personnel Rules regarding promotions. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) regular position with full benefits. This is a Civil Service position eligible for overtime.
