QUALIFICATIONS: 1. A Master's Degree. Appropriate certification.2. Appropriate MA certification from DESE.3.
At least five (5) years of successful teaching experience.4. Supervisory or administrative experience.5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the school committee may find appropriate and acceptable.ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Directly responsible to the principal; evaluated annually by the principal.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as the professional assistant to the principal in the attainment of the goals and objectives of the school. Primary duties include but are not limited to: (1) supervising student behavior; (2) handling managerial duties as assigned; (3) curriculum and staff development; (4) the evaluation and supervision of professional and classified personnel; (5) providing leadership in instructional and extra-curricular programs.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Assists in the requisitioning of appropriate materials and services to implement the programs of the school.2.Maintains an inventory of books, supplies, and equipment as assigned.
3.Maintains attendance and other records as assigned.4.Assists with the coordination and supervision of the school's transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services.5.Attends school functions, meetings, and programs as assigned.6.Contributes to the overall public relations program of the school..7.Establishes the confidence and respect of students, staff, and parents.8.Assists the principal in the development of the school's master schedule.9.Assists the principal in the development of the school budget.10.Assists in the recruitment and selection of candidates for professional and classified personnel.11.Assists in the evaluation and supervision of professional and classified personnel as assigned.12.Assists in the planning and conducting of faculty meetings.13.Assists in the planning of staff development programs.14.Assists with the supervision and evaluation of the educational programs.15.Serves as a resource person on curriculum issues.16.Chairs school or district curriculum studies as assigned.17.Maintains close liaisons with the other schools in the district regarding curriculum and administrative matters.18.Completes reports and studies as assigned.19.Coordinates building use by inside school groups and outside organizations or individuals.20.Is an active participant on the school's safety/housekeeping committee.21.Assists in coordinating daily cleaning and maintenance of the building and grounds.22.Assists in organizing, administering, and supervising the school's extra curricular programs as assigned.23.Maintains effective communication and relationships with students, staff, and parents.24.Implements the discipline policy in a fair and consistent manner.25.Participates in a continual professional development program.26.Exhibits professional and ethical behavior to staff, parents, and co-workers.27.Assists the principal with disciplinary action and programs.28.Assists the principal in promoting a positive school climate.29.Performs other duties as may be assigned by the principal or superintendent.
