POSITION
SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining plant equipment, facilities and utility systems while maintaining superior standards of safety and quality. Provide problem solving leadership to ensure the efficient operation and continuous improvement of the plant.
Responsible for
- Coordinate daily Maintenance schedule.
- Analyze / trouble shoot electrical and mechanical problems, interpret technical information necessary to make needed repairs on production and packaging equipment.
- Good electro-mechanical skills.
- Troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, including, but not limited to, 110V, 220V, 440V, and low voltage control systems.
- Weld and fabricate parts needed for emergency repairs (a plus).
- Grounds maintenance.
- Conduct daily equipment audits, maintain equipment and parts inventory
- Building utilities including lighting, boilers, compressors, heating & cooling, and alarm systems.
- Knowledgeable with Blue Prints and Schematics
- Able to work with and trouble shoot motor controls and drives
- General plumbing, and pipe-fitting
- Heavy and light machinery repair, pumps, gearboxes, motors, conveying equipment
- Assists in training and coaching other Maintenance Mechanics
- Refrigeration and Ammonia Systems knowledge a plus
Physical requirements:
Requires employee to stoop, bend, reach, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated heights, and lift up to a maximum of 65 lbs. Ability to walk or stand for an 8 hour period.
Personal Protective Equipment:
The employee is regularly required to wear company authorized safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, rubber boots, chemical protection high voltage protection, Gas mask and other personal protective equipment to successfully perform the functions of the job.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job you regularly work near moving mechanical parts. You will be exposed during the job to: low and high voltage, noise levels, chemicals, exposure to frozen product, hot environments, stair climbing, slippery floors and sub-freezing environments. At times may require to perform work from ladders or elevated work platforms.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent,
Hands-on or vocational school training,
2-5 years Mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical industry in a manufacturing environment.
Valid Driver’s License.
