Job Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop and direct our facility’s Physical Therapy Services in accordance with applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines, regulations to assure that the highest degree of quality care can be maintained at all times.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meets with administration, medical and nursing staff, as well as other related departments in planning therapy services - to include patients and family.
- Assists in developing, implementing and coordinating patient care plans for individual patients in coordination and conjunction with the patients assessment.
- Briefs patient of procedures involved in physical therapy and prepares necessary equipment - reassures patient before and during therapy treatment.
- Determines proper equipment usage, application and body position, makes adjustments when necessary in the administration of physical therapy treatments.
- Recommends modifications of changes in the patient’s therapy program based on evaluation of progress.
- Ensures that all therapy notes are informative, descriptive and follow Company’s policy and procedures.
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy required
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy preferred
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist
Experience and Specific Requirements:
- 1 year experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions and accept constructive criticism
- Must possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel
- Must possess good judgement and have the ability to maintain highly confidential information
- Must be knowledgeable of HIPAA compliance and requirements
- Must have the ability and to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals and objectives of the department as it relates to the Company
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
