Sea Dog Animal Training is looking for a responsible and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a kennel attendant - sanitation. This is a part-time, entry-level position in the animal care field. No experience required! We will teach you what you need to know and there are opportunities for advancement. Job duties include maintaining facility cleanliness and dog health by assisting in the removal of pet waste.
Job Description
The kennel attendant - sanitation job specializes in the essential task of keeping the facility clean and sanitary. Along with our other team members, you will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing pet suites to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for the dogs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Scooping, hosing, scrubbing, and disinfecting surfaces in cooperation with animal caretaking team. Removing soiled items from empty pet suites.
- Disposal of waste.
- Cleaning and sanitizing of tools.
- Providing fresh bedding and water to clean suites.
- Assisting animal caretakers as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Schedule
- This is a part-time position with flexible hours.
- Available shifts include mornings, weekends, and holidays, and occasional afternoon or evening shifts based on the needs of the facility.

Requirements
- Ability to work semi-independently to accomplish routine tasks.
- Ability to work with teammates.
- Ability to bend, twist, lift, push, pull, and stretch. May be required to handle up to 50 lbs.
- Tolerance of exposure to outdoor environments in all seasons and weather conditions.
- Ability to work in loud environments with exposure to strong smells, disinfectants, animals, and waste.
- Ability to communicate clearly both in person and in writing.
- Ability to follow rules, guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
- Understanding when to ask for help.
