Position Summary
Vice President of Operations in Construction
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President of Operations in Construction to join our growing team in the construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects from start to finish. That includes but not limited to, building construction team, request bids from subs, having a GC license is a plus. Do inspection before and after each project. Knowledge of eviction process. This is a permanent position that requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee construction projects from conception to completion
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project success
- Review and approve project plans, specifications, and contracts
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Monitor and report project progress to stakeholders
- Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure quality control and safety standards are met
- Manage project change orders and budgets
- Facilitate communication between project team members
- Prepare, review and distribute RFIs. Maintain RFI Log.
- Maintain job subcontract and submittal Log.
- Maintain job files and as-builts.
- Develop and maintain schedule with Superintendent input.
- Maintain thorough understanding of contract documents and subcontracts.
- Complete required tasks daily: Timecards/Attendance Log, Purchase Orders, Work Orders, Daily Reports.
- Packet and collecting Subcontractor Daily Job Reports.
- Weekly project photos.
- Inspect/verify material deliveries.
- Manage project closeout and obtain all warranties required for final acceptance.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field is a plus, OR High school diploma, GED, and 7 years of related work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, specifically in single house, multi-family and commercial construction
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience managing project budgets and schedules
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and building codes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Professional working proficiency in Mandarin is a MUST
