Experience in early childhood education or a related field preferred and at least 3 years experience
At least 18 years of age
Must complete 24 hours of continuing education every year
Rhode Island: must hold a High School Diploma/ GED, and participates in an ongoing early staff development program
Job Description:
The Toddler lead teacher:
- Creating and implementing curriculum that is stimulating, engaging and educational
- Developing and implementing individual educational plans for children
- Supervise students and model positive and respectful behavior
- Helping students gain independence through learning
- Communicating with parents and director of center
- Supervise assistant teachers in the class to ensure that the students are getting the best care possible
- Must follow center and DHS policies and regulations
- Model effective interaction with children, families, and colleagues
- Complete additional duties as assigned in a timely matter
- Experience of teaching Preschool children and creating curriculum
- Ability to model best practices
- Excellent planning skills; creativity in programming and partnership development
- Excellent relationship building skills; ability to address issues with both children and families
- Knowledge of youth development principles and practices
- Strong organization and attention to details
- Ability to clear all required background checks
