POSITION SUMMARY:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, janitorial, and grounds keeping to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment on Campus. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Maintenance:
-
Perform routine inspections of the facility and address maintenance needs.

Conduct repairs and troubleshoot issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and other building systems.

Execute preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity of equipment and systems.
-
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
-
Janitorial Services:
-
Clean and sanitize designated areas, including offices, restrooms, break rooms, and shared spaces.
-
Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste.
-
Maintain cleanliness following established standards and protocols.
-
Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.
- Groundskeeping:
- Maintain the exterior grounds, including lawns, walkways, and parking lots.

Perform landscaping duties such as mowing, trimming, and planting as needed.
-
Monitor and address issues related to irrigation systems.
-
Ensure that outdoor areas are aesthetically pleasing and well-maintained.

Safety and Compliance:
-
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to create a secure environment for all occupants.

Identify potential hazards and take corrective actions.
-
Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Record Keeping:

Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and cleaning schedules.

Provide regular updates on the status of ongoing projects and maintenance tasks.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Experience and Competencies:

Proven experience in maintenance, janitorial services, and grounds keeping.

Basic plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general building maintenance knowledge.

Ability to operate maintenance equipment and tools.
-
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
-
Physical stamina and the ability to lift/move heavy objects.
-
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
-
Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to implement them effectively.
-
Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality.

Professional appearance and demeanor.
-
Bilingual preferred.
-
Must be culturally/linguistically sensitive to the populations served.

Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare’s vehicle insurance is required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain background clearance.

During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you.

CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and an annual Tuberculosis test.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A High School diploma or its equivalent is required.
