Overview:
The Yard Driver is primarily responsible for the accurate and efficient movement of inbound and outbound freight. Duties include safely and accurately backing, pull spotting, and shifting tractor-trailer rigs.
This position works Monday through Friday 9am - 5:30pm with mandatory overtime as needed to include up to 10 hour work days and weekends.
Base Rate: $17.97 / hour
Responsibilities:

Safely operate yard truck and maneuver equipment in and around tight corners, through staging areas, and around pedestrian traffic in a safe manner.- Connect/disconnect trailer/container, operate trailer landing gear, and open trailer doors.
- Review and comprehend Shi Via and set-up reports
- Operate air-over hydraulic fifth-wheel front trailer support system.
- Performs routine inspection on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to the supervisor; cleans equipment.
- Properly follows company and OSHA safety procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to read, write, operate RF device, conduct business related mathematics and analyze data as required.
- Brings problems to the attention of the supervisor, manager, safety director or HR manager.
- Follows daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
- All other duties as assigned

Required to stand (stationary position) during scheduled hours. Hours usually include weekends, evenings and holidays in conjunction with labor regulations.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to communicate using various methods.
- Kneeling, stooping, using stairs, reaching, pulling and moving weights of 0-25 pounds constantly and 25-40 pounds occasionally and over 40 pounds seldomly with or without assistance as needed.
- Ability to move up to 40 pounds at least 25 feet in distance occasionally with assistance as needed.
- Based on business necessity associates may be required to temporarily work in other locations that require different physical demands.
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED- Minimum of 1 year previous driving experience highly preferred.
- Commercial Driver’s License preferred
- Minimum of 1 year experience using air brake systems
Benefits:
Base rate paid bi-weekly: $17.97/hour

Earn $0.26 wage increases following the completion of 90 days, 6 months, 12 months, and 18 months of service, totaling up to $1.04/hr on top of the base rate.
