JOB SUMMARY: The Lead AV Installer will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting and repair of AV systems. This includes the installation of new audiovisual systems in small and medium sized conference rooms as well as upgrading existing systems. The job description listed herein is a basis of design and is not all inclusive.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Read, interpret and follow AV system schematics and blueprints.
- Installation of low voltage wiring.
- Pull, solder and terminate AV cables.
- Build and wire AV equipment racks.
- Installation of displays, projectors, and speakers
- Troubleshoot and test equipment and when necessary prepare equipment to be sent out for repairs.
- Train end users on AV systems and components.
- Attend site visits/walk-throughs and provide office staff with a detailed scope of work and list of required materials.
- Provide As-built documentation, as required.
- Attend training and safety meetings as required.
- Attend continuing education, training and safety meetings as required, and maintain a core competence as an A/V Installer as changes in our industry occurs.
- Notify necessary office staff of materials that need to be ordered.
- Perform additional A/V Installer and related functions as assigned by management and which management deems within the general skill and ability level of a productive A/V Installer in our industry
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Three years experience with installations of various size.
- Familiarity with Extron, Crestron and AMX control systems, audio consoles, power amplifiers, digital signal processors, video matrix switchers, video scalers, PC interfaces and digital video recorders.
- Ability to work extended hours (overtime/weekends) as needed
- Position requires daily travel to worksites and employees must have the ability to independently get to worksites.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment are essential.
- Must adhere to OSHA Safety Standards.
- Must adhere to all company rules and policies.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable with our auto insurance carrier during course of employment.
- Obtain and keep up-to-date clearances: Federal clearance with fingerprinting, PA State Police, PA Child Abuse.
- OSHA 10 hour certification
- Lift Safety Training certification
While performing the regular and traditional duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; reach with hands and arms. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit and use hands to pull cables and wires, use power tools, work in awkward positions and climb ladders and/or scaffolding. The employee must be able to safely lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. These physical aspects of an A/V Installer’s position are ongoing throughout the workday and not merely occasional in nature.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
