THIS IS A FLOATER ROLE SO REGULAR TRAVEL IS REQUIRED BETWEEN OUR QUEENS LOCATIONS (FOREST HILLS, JACKSON HEIGHTS, AND HOLLIS).
Employee is responsible for day-to-day functions in the optical department, including but not limited to:
- Verifying vision insurance benefits and coverage
- Educating patients on coverage and additional payment options such as financing or cash/credit payments
- Fitting patients with appropriate frame and lens packages along with accurate measurements of PD, segment height, OCs
- Submitting contact lens and trial sample orders to optical manager
- Entering precise data regarding orders into online lab platforms
- Calling and following up with patients regarding order status, including pick up and possible delays.
- Collecting payments for purchases as necessary
- Filling out daily ledger of all transactional history
- Up-keeping of optical area and work station, as well as optical lab room
- Inventorying frames as needed
Employee should display autonomy and be knowledgeable of handling a variety of situations that may be presented with little supervision. Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. English/Spanish speaker is greatly preferred due to the surrounding demographics. Travel may be necessary to cover other sites, if needed.
