About the Position:
Our Mental Health Therapists play a crucial role in addressing both the addiction and underlying mental health issues that contribute to substance abuse. Our therapists are trained professionals who provide individualized counseling and therapy to clients struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Therapist Role:
- Provide Psychotherapy to individuals to help process, create insight and awareness, and assist the client with promoting a strong and healthy social, emotional, familial, and psychological lifestyle through treatment approaches such as individual sessions and group therapy. Treatment is to also include the goal of reducing severity of symptomology as well as to modify or eliminate maladaptive behaviors and create new and healthy ones as well as improve relationships with self and others.
- Provide Group Psychotherapy - Topics Include any Diagnostic Disorders/Illnesses such as Anxiety, Depression, Personality Disorders, Mood Disorders, Neurocognitive, Neurodevelopment, Disruptive Behaviors, Sexual and Gender Identity, Sleep Wake, Somatic Symptoms, Lifespan Developmental, Gender and Cross-cultural, Substance Use, Trauma and Abuse Disorders.
- Assess underlying issues as well as chemical, neurological, physiological, psychosomatic, and cognitive deficits/impairments and refer out to respective medical, legal, financial, and other necessary community resources.
- Provide Crisis Management services.
- Provides Therapeutic Interventions throughout Treatment Modalities that include CBT, DBT, Humanistic, Solution Focused, Narrative, Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Family Systems, and Structural Therapy.
- Provide timely documentation including Clinical Reviews, Progress Notes, and Clinical Assessments
- Communicate with Clinical Team with daily reports of therapeutic progress, family involvement, support system, concerns, and client advocacy.
- Complete and collaborate with clients timely and tailored treatment planning.
- Assist the Case Manager with Discharge Planning.

Experience:
- Substance Abuse and Mental Health Treatment: 3 Years (Preferred)
Education:
- Masters Degree (Required)
License: (All Certifications Must be Current)
- APCC (Intern Number from the Board of Behavioral Sciences, CA)
- AMFT (Intern Number from the Board of Behavioral Sciences, CA)
- LCSW/LMFT/LPCC - California Registered
