Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. The ideal candidate will support students with diverse learning needs and contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
Qualifications
- Possess a valid State of Illinois Professional Educator License endorsed for Paraprofessional
- Short-Term Paraprofessional Approvals are available until June 30,2028
- Completed 60 semester hours of college credit at a regionally accredited institution of higher education
- Obtained an associate degree (or Higher) at a regionally accredited institution of higher education
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all Mandated Reporting guidelines
- Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of classroom teachers, PT, OT, SLP, SLPA and Behavior Specialist
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans for the students and monitor their progress
- Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
- Assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records
- support students with emotional or behavior concerns and assist them in developing appropriate social skills
- Be capable of physically assisting students with special needs as required (positioning, lifting, transferring, restraining, etc.)
- Have demonstrated ability to work effectively under the direction of others
- Have demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others
- Have willingness to assume responsibilities appropriate for the position
- Be proactive in matters relating to health and safety

Pay: $16.67 - $17.95 per hour
