Data Entry Specialist

DESCRIPTION OF BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform a variety of technical and clerical duties to maintain and support the District’s student information system, student databases and educational software; to maintain existing database records; input new data; and revise and update student data. This job requires the performance of attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to function with minimal supervision and/or independently.

SUPERVISOR: Coordinator of Assessment and Data
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Inputs, verifies and maintains student and staff data in the Student Information System
- Input, verify and disseminate student assessment data
- Compile and process information from a variety of sources, including ASJUSD data systems and external sources, to fulfill requests;
- Assist with inputting, importing and monitoring data in various state database programs including state and federal data collection and state testing systems
- Organizes data information to be input and/or revised
- Reviews data for accuracy and completeness
- Creates reports based on student and staff data as requested
- Assists in coordinating the implementation of State and District Assessments
- Performs other duties similar to the above in scope and function as required.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Knowledge of:
- Proper English grammar, usage, and spelling
- Modern office practices and procedures
- Applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures
- Database maintenance, Excel functions, Word, Google Drive and Applications, experience with data imports to various systems.
Ability to:
- Operate a computer, printer, and other office equipment
- Use Microsoft Office and Google Suite including proficiency with Word, Excel, Access and Power Point
- Communicate effectively in both oral and written form including presentations
- Demonstrate excellent organizational skills
- Identify errors in data and make or suggest necessary corrections
- Must be able to work independently and meet schedules, timelines and deadlines
- Must be able to read, interpret and apply complex statistical information
- Schedule and prioritize work flow efficiently
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships
- Possess interpersonal skills such as tact, confidentiality, patience and courtesy
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma (or equivalent);
- Bachelor's degree preferrable
- Knowledge and abilities acquired during at least one year of database or data processing experience
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office Skills
- Bilingual preferred

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.43 - $26.88 per hour
