Georgia Poultry Mission Statement:
We provide monitoring and diagnostic services from farm to table to contribute to the safety and health of poultry flocks, eggs, and poultry products.
Who We Are:
We support the poultry industry and other bird owners by providing health monitoring and veterinary diagnostic services specific to poultry. We are in partnership with the poultry industry, government agencies and other laboratories for the prevention, management, and control of poultry disease outbreaks statewide. We participate in emergency preparedness programs for Avian Influenza and Exotic Newcastle Disease.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Use LIMS to receive, log in samples, and verify test requests for serology testing.
2. Centrifuge blood, if needed, and draw off serum.
3. Create serum stock plates with documentation for ELISA or pull sera to tubes for PT.
4. Restock cabinets and work areas with needed disposable supplies.
5. Discard sera on accessions that are closed in LIMS.
6. Maintain Active List
7. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the LT4.

Required: Computer Data Entry
Preferred: Serology Laboratory Experience
Education & Training
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred: College courses in related field
Physical Requirements
Required [Essential Functions]: Ability to life up to 30 pounds.
