Greenwood Music Camp is a chamber music camp for gifted young musicians to learn, grow and play beautiful music in a warm, supportive environment. The camp takes place from June 29, 2024 to August 4, 2024 and is located in beautiful, rural, Cummington, MA. Position available for a nurse to live at camp (room and board provided) or on an hourly shift basis for local nurses. Compensation TBD based on license and contract (live in or shifts). MA license reimbursement provided. Camp and/or school nurse experience preferred but not required. Family housing is available if desired. Our chef makes an amazing, varied, locally sourced menu daily! There are approximately 60 campers from age 14-18. Enjoy a relaxing summer in a beautiful location!
Job Summary: Greenwood Camp nurse will be responsible for the care and supervision of all medical services. This care includes looking after ill or injured campers, administering medication, communication with parents and staff, organization of medical information, medications and first-aid kits, as well as keeping records of camper visits.
Camp will be staffed from 10am on Saturday, June 29 to 4pm on Sunday, August 4. Reports to: Camp Director and Medical Director. Salary: Up to $1500/week depending on qualifications. Requirements:
- Licensed as a RN or LPN in the state of MA
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Experience working with children and youth ideal
- 21 years of age or older
- Ability to maintain health forms and paperwork
- Ability to maintain and administer all medications
- Ability to make decisions and take initiative under pressure
- Good communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Assist in organizing and setting up the Greenwood Health Office Making sure First-Aid kits supplied and maintained
- Review insurance forms and camper health forms
- Keep a record of camper’s office visits
- Accept and store all prescription and over-the-counter drugs
- Administer prescription and over-the-counter drugs when necessary
- Illness and injury management
- Communication with medical director, parents and staff about camper’s illness or injury Be a medical resource that would bridge the gap between basic medical knowledge and emergencies
- Providing First Aid for: cuts, scrapes and bruises , bee stings, dehydration and sunburn

Pay: $1,200.00 - $1,500.00 per week
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
