Looking for an experienced, motivated, self-disciplined and organization's mission focused Human Resources Professional who will provide support to the Human Resources Department, which includes applicant and new hire administration, recruiting for vacant positions, conducting new hire orientations, maintain all personnel records and files, respond to correspondence, and other HR related duties. This position requires high attention to detail, multi-tasking, strong computer/technical skills and ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing direct Human Resources administrative support to the CHS HR Team.
- Participate in a multitude of HR related projects, mid/large scale initiatives, assist in problem-solving to effectively support both the HR team and designated business lines.
- Ensure all new hires have completed all the necessary steps prior to hire, including but not limited to criminal background checks, fingerprinting appointments, verification of employment/references, verification of professional licenses, OIG checks, driving records and DDS regulations clearance.
- Serve as a point of contact to triage/troubleshoot/problem solve escalated policy interpretation, employee issues and other employee inquiries and assist in fulfilling requests related to ongoing union relations.
- Assist in scheduling interviews, phone screens, reference/background checks and screens. Prepare candidate correspondence, offer packages and onboarding communications. Respond to employee inquiries related to benefits, payroll, compensation, policies and procedures.
- Assist in coordinating employee benefits programs, communicating benefit changes during open enrollment, answering employee related questions, assisting with COBRA, etc.
- Respond to requests for information from external regulatory agencies, service providers, etc. and prepare responses in an accurate and professional manner.
- Respond to internal and external HR related employee inquiries or requests and provide interpretation and/or guidance as needed.
- Under general HR Director’s direction, coordinate the administration of employee leaves of absence programs such as LTD, FMLA, workers compensation, military and personal leaves. Advise employees on eligibility, status, and other matters related to leave of absence.
- Assist in the process of inputting new hires into HRMS and ensures accuracy through regular system reporting auditing.
- Monitor HR department general email, calls, voicemails, and other applicable communications and respond accordingly.
- Assist in maintaining and updating staff licensure and credentials, TB, CPR, First Aide, and other data related to regulatory requirements.
Qualifications/Required Skills:
- HS Diploma required; BA/BS in related field highly preferred or years of experience, PHR/SPHR certification A PLUS!
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant human resources administrative tasks experience and previous experience directly supporting people with developmental disabilities A PLUS!
- Experience with a unionized workforce preferred
- Ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using sound judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, or government law.
- Ability to self-motivate, be proactive, and take initiative, while working both independently and as part of a team escalating issues as appropriate.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, independently seek out information and resources required to meet goals and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain successful, collaborative relationships with all levels of the organization, achieve credibility and interact with others across the organization.
- Capability to deliver high quality work; act with a clear sense of ownership and handle highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
- A valid Massachusetts/New Hampshire/Rhode Island driver's license, reliable vehicle for work-related travel and good driving history record required
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, in particular MS Excel, Word
- Ability to understand and comply with multiple regulatory requirements.
- Must possess the ability to switch tasks with ease. Must be extremely organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Must be able to work well in a team environment, be self-motivated, and able to work with little direct supervision. The HR Coordinator should demonstrate fervent communication skills and uphold a comfortable and professional atmosphere in the front HR office area. Must be self-motivated and have discipline.
