Summary
Assist the Director of Golf in managing the day to day Chattahoochee Golf Course operations in a manner which supports good business practices while ensuring quality service is provided to the public and that work is performed in compliance with City policies and procedures. The position is responsible for supervising and managing total golf operations in the absence of the Director of Golf. Performance is evaluated by the Director of Golf through written reports, discussions and results achieved.
Job Duties
Train and supervise golf shop personnel engaged in collecting fees. Ensures reconciliation of all transactions and ensures funds collected are deposited daily and appropriate paperwork is complete.
Assist the Director of Golf with golf shop merchandise and inventory.Supervise golf cart and driving range operations.
Coordinate golf tournaments and assists in all tournament operations.
Coordinate and prepare employee work schedule in a timely manner.
Prepare and submits bi-weekly payroll to Human Resources.
Work closely with golf organizations, citizen groups, vendors and industry representatives.
Monitor guest experience and take appropriate action to assure the best customer service. Assist patrons with tee times and general questions. Investigate, report and resolve complaints from patrons.
Produce daily reports related to rounds, sales, etc. for management.
Demonstrate a continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively with staff and patrons.
Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED with a minimum three years related experience.
Associates degree preferred.
Prefer a candidate enrolled in the GPTP (Golf Professional Training Program) and completion of level 1 is desired.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the minimum level of qualifications
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Class C Driver's License and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of golf course operations.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with employees, City officials and the general public.
Knowledge of modern accounting practices.
Ability to coordinate, delegate and negotiate.
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Supplemental Information
Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in an office environment and outdoors on a variety of terrain and possibly in adverse weather conditions while sitting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching or walking. The position may involve lifting of up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders and using tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
