Function / Position Summary
The job of the Dual Credit Classroom Supervisor is to monitor and supervise students who are taking concurrent dual credit classes. The classroom supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the technology set up of the classroom and addressing students’ specific needs. The Dual Credit Classroom Supervisor is the liaison between the students at the high school and the dual credit teacher at a different high school. Reinforce classroom instruction for individual students or small/whole groups. Uphold School District U-46 ICAE standards. Perform duties and activities under direct supervision of a certified staff member. Adhere to published policies and procedures distributed by the district and school. Maintain confidentiality of student, staff, and department information within the school and community.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Implement individual or small/whole group instructional lessons or related activity under the supervision of the assigned certified teacher.
- Document and report student behavior as directed by the teacher.
- Collaborate with the teacher, prepare and maintain materials.
- Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
- Set up, maintain and troubleshoot concurrent classroom technology daily.
- Attend Meeting and staff development activities as assigned, providing observations and reports as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education
- Paraprofessional Educator License, Professional Educator or Provisional Educator License required.
- Minimum education requirement for a Paraprofessional Educator License is: associates degree or higher, completion of at least 60 semester hours of college course work or a high school diploma or GED with a passing score on the ETS Para Pro exam or two specific Work Keys exams.
- Bilingual - Spanish/English (written/verbal) preferred. Certain assignments require Bilingual – Spanish/English.
Experience / Knowledge
- Effective communication skills.
- Experience working with students in an educational setting preferred.
Physical Demands
- The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Terms of Employment
- This is a 10-month position.
- Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education and set forth in the collective bargaining agreement as applicable.
Salary Information
- 7 hours per day.
- This position includes benefits.
