Description:
The Manager is technically and theoretically competent with a broadened knowledge base in the management of Radiation Oncology patients and staff. Acts as the senior resource and is able to coordinate departmental activities in the absence of the Director of Operations. Acts as liaison between staff and other departments within the system. Participates on hospital committees that directly influence the quality of oncology care (i.e. Cancer Committee and PI Teams). Is responsible for the overall supervision of the Radiation Oncology Department staff and provides direct guidance and mentorship for assigned supervisors. Assists the Director of Operations in planning and managing expenses, budget, patient charges and billing, overtime, and appropriate staffing. The manager demonstrates fiscal responsibility in the allocation of available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe, and compassionate care. The Manager supports BHSF Service Excellence philosophy and collaborates with leadership to support the Mission and Vision of the entity and department.
Qualifications:
Degrees: Bachelors Licenses & Certifications: Basic Life Support ARRT Registered Technologist - Radiation Therapy Additional Qualifications: Required: Active licensure with credentialing for Radiation Therapy (R.T.(T)) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and the State of Florida Department of Health. In addition, Bachelors degree in Health Care, Management, Radiation Therapy, Leadership, or Business is required. Previous experience in managing a large (<50 staff) radiation oncology department with both photon and proton therapy, other similar hospital department or large business unit. Demonstrated ability to maximize patient throughput while maintaining strong patient satisfaction. Strong inter-personal skills and an ability to work with physicians and staff in a collegial, cooperative and coordinated manner. Minimum seven consecutive years of full-time radiation oncology work experience, with direct supervisory clinical experience for two of the seven years. Must demonstrate current knowledge of law and regulations related to Radiation Oncology with understanding of organizational behavior and management theory.
