Job Description
The Department of Natural Sciences, in the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks applications from qualified candidates for a part-time non-tenure track position in geology to teach first-year courses in geology that serve the Texas core curriculum. Specifically, we seek instructors to teach face-to-face lecture and laboratory courses for GEOL 1301/1101 Earth Sciences I and GEOL 1302/1102 Earth Sciences II. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining a safe environment for instruction and learning in a laboratory setting.
Compensation:
3-hour lecture courses = $3000
3-hour laboratory = $2000
Required Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in Geology or a related field, from a regionally accredited institution.
Must have 18 graduate credit hours in related area.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience teaching at the college level.
Experience working with all students from different backgrounds and settings.
Completed Ph.D. in Geology or related field.
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Strong self-discipline and ability to work independently.
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
