Role Overview
The Assistant Designer for men’s & boys works closely with the Senior Manager of the men’s design department. The Assistant Designer will be involved in all cycles of the product development process- Design, Tech Packs, Development, Fittings etc. This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities
· Assist with the development of College/ Active/ Outdoors Lines for men’s & boys
· Assist with concept and research development for seasonal deliveries
· Develop CAD illustrations for artwork and design
· Attend design meetings, take notes, and keep line sheets up to date
· Responsible for organizing and maintaining samples, artwork, garments and trims
· Responsible for communicating & shipping samples requested by Sales Reps
· Attend fittings and keep records as related to updated styles and tech packages
· Create Tech packs for all lines for men’s & boys
· Prepare photo shoot prep/samples and attend photo shoots
· Follow up and coordinate all ongoing projects in order to meet stated deadlines
· Performs additional duties and assignments, as requested
Qualifications/Experience
- Must have a two-year AAS or College degree in Design
- Must have excellent working knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Excel
- At least 1-2 years of experience in fashion apparel design
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet all objectives and allow the various initiatives of the Design department to be accomplished in a timely manner
- Must be detail oriented individual and a strong self-starter
- Must be able to take direction. This position requires incumbent to establish effective work relationships across multiple levels and functions.
- Ability to work under pressure in an environment of constant shifting priorities and change
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in both written and verbal communication.
- Must be a team player, have ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines and take initiative
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

Education:
Experience:
- Garment construction: 1 year (Preferred)
- Adobe Illustrator: 2 years (Required)
- related experience and/or training in Apparel Design: 2 years (Required)
