Job Purpose
Create best possible solutions, negotiate appropriate freight rates, terms and conditions and create profitable work for the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure freight charges, port handling charges and any other related charges globally.
- Establish the quotation either for our own global MPL organization, to agents or to direct clients.
- Once awarded hand over the pricing and execution to the operations department.
- P roduct/service sourcing, contract & bid procedures, supplier selection, pricing & terms negotiation, purchase order processing, contract administration, receiving of goods/services, and supplier performance management, as well as purchasing efficiency & streamlining optimizations.
- The colleague understands the overall nature of the business and the interdependencies between own and other functions.
- H andles most situations independently, receives minimal guidance, but will seek advice, guidance and support on more complex or non-routine topics.
- Cooperate closely with the sales and growth teams locally as well as globally.
Required experience & skills
- At least 5 years of experience as a Procurement Manager.
- Bachelor Degree with graduate studies (preferred).
- Relevant experience in Ocean.
- Experience and understanding of complex procedures required in global project forwarding, from single OOG shipments to relocation of complete production plants.
- International work experience and/or Spanish speaking is a plus.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to collaborate and drive business outcomes in a matrix organization.
- Strategic mindset and data savvy
- Customer centricity.
