Job Summary:
The Yard Coordinator will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring trucks efficiently access, load and exit the facility by monitoring truck waiting times, maintaining active lines of communication between dispatch and operations and work with operations to clear back-logs and prioritize loads. The Yard Coordinator will effectively manage time ensuring that administrative matters are resolved during slow periods allowing for full attention to logistics during sporadic peak traffic times.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Obtain and review daily dispatch sheet to ensure operational efficiency.
- Utilize truck wait time dashboard to determine status of trucks and onsite time.
- Investigate trucks with excessive wait times and coordinate with operations to prioritize.
- Review and document discrepancies in truck arrival times to scheduled.
- Document trucks with late arrivals..
- Document trucks with scale delays and investigate reason for delay.
- Coordinate with operations to ensure trucks scale time is under 15 minutes.
- Move trucks between open scales and loading lanes as needed to create efficiencies.
- Identify malfunctioning equipment causing excessive delays and coordinate with operations for resolution.
- Troubleshoot all delays in movement of trucks through the operation.
- Email end of day report identifying operational issues and recommendations for improving efficiency of truck movement and yard operations.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 2-4 years related logistics and/or dispatch experience.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, use hands to finger, handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; bending or crouching; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to frequently walk around the two-acre flat dispatch yard at all times as needed.
- Ability to work outdoors year-round in various weather conditions.
- Some lifting of files, opening cabinets.
- Bending or standing as necessary.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.
Scheduling/Compensation
- Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00 pm – 3:00 am
- May extend to 10-hour shift to meet business needs
- Pay range: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
