PART-TIME, Production Operator (Quarry) – Fort Dodge
Job Description
The PART-TIME Quarry Production Operator position is an opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their ability to multitask, work as a team and use their leadership skills within a fast-paced mining environment. Reporting to the Quarry Production Supervisors, the successful part-time applicant will conduct the daily operations of the Quarry, assist in the implementation of safety programs and maintain/contribute to production levels. As a part-time employee, must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours, but not more than 30 hours, on average per week with flexibility to work nights and weekends.
The part-time position has a set schedule of Thursday – Saturday. Thursday is a 10-hour shift, Friday and Saturday are 8-hour shifts.

Basic Accountabilities:
- A good work ethic, acceptable job performance, and predictable attendance.
- Complete all required MSHA and OSHA training and follow all regulations.
- Practice dignity and respect towards co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
- Willing and able to learn equipment operation and follow all plant, department, and job safety rules.
- Safely and efficiently operate various pieces of quarry equipment including, but not limited to, scrapers, excavators, loaders, haul trucks, crushers and conveyors.
- Work with computers and other control screens.
- Service and make routine operating adjustments to equipment.
- Evaluate mechanical problems and communicate the information effectively to the maintenance crew
- Understand the importance of completing assigned tasks and their relationship to other requirements.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends.
- Must be available for overtime and call-ins as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Must meet essential physical requirements related to:
o Regularly sitting, talking, listening, standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms.
o Occasionally climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
o Report to job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
- Ability to perform all essential and support functions of the job.
- Ability to work in a team environment and assist others with duties as required.
- Ability to maintain a high-level of housekeeping in all areas of the job.
- Wear and use all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
o Hard hat, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.
- Ability to read, write and possess basic math skills to complete daily reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior heavy equipment experience, including crushing operation.
- Possess a CDL and Tanker Endorsement.
- Completed MSHA Part 48 Training.
Hourly Salary: $24.48
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
