Diesel Mechanic Job Summary
Our company is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our trucking fleet. While this role focuses on diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, our ideal candidate is also comfortable working as a technician who can diagnose and repair electrical issues in newer trucks and/or heavy equipment. In addition to making repairs, you will also be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on diesel engines, brakes, transmission, and other systems. Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
Diesel Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair issues in diesel engines
- Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulics, brakes, transmission, steering, and other systems
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Perform welding or fabrication tasks on trailers and other equipment as necessary
- Prepare work orders and order parts
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace - Required
Diesel Mechanic Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
- Experience with diesel engine repair
- Electrical Diagnostic
- Some welding experience required
- Mechanical skills
- Basic computer skills
- Basic math skills
Pay is based off experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
