Education, Experience and/or Skills Required:
Minimum of five years of clinical and/or operations leadership-level experience (System/Region experience a plus)
RN with Master’s Degree in a clinical or operational field
Excellent written and verbal skills – evidence of written and verbal presentation successes
Experience with Patient Safety and/or HRO Initiatives
Certified or willing to become certified in either CPPS (Patient Safety) or CPHRM (Risk Management) within 1 year of hire
Conflict Management skills and self-confidence for resolutions of outcomes with dissatisfied patients/customers or those for which an outcome was sub-optimal
Education, Experience and/or Skills Preferred:
Clinical experience that has been either recent, lengthy/and/or diverse
Awareness of industry and local/national Risk Management trends and strategies
Fluency in electronic medical record documentation of clinical care
Clinical experience with acute care and ambulatory care operations
License/Certification Required:
Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for assigned staff-level Risk Management activities, which include administering the risk management program across the system’s facilities on a day-to-day basis, managing and analyzing risk management data, identifying risk issues, conducting, or arranging educational programs, and assisting in review and investigation of claims against the facility. The objective of Risk Management is to promote quality care and patient safety, and to identify, control, and minimize loss of the facility assets.
