PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Lead the maintenance staff to provide support to all operations at Pan-Oston in an efficient and timely manner.
RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY:
Responsible for ensuring all facilities, layout and machinery used to produce new and existing materials and goods run to their maximum efficiency and output. This includes preventive maintenance, managing breakdowns of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on industrial machinery. This position includes people management and budgetary/cost reporting. Leading the maintenance staff; scheduling and assigning work; requisitioning materials and supplies; estimating work hours and materials required for projects; and coordinating activities with all departments. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

Performs all duties of the Maintenance Technician position

Oversees maintenance requests and ensures they are completed

Works with management to plan work priorities

Researches the necessary parts to make repairs on equipment

Researches alternative parts sources as cost saving alternatives to OEM parts when applicable.

Work with management to plan maintenance work around production to prevent lost machine time

Tracks labor hours and part costs for each job through the company’s management system

Track and assign and preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment

Works with vendors to track consumable parts inventory

Keeps track of parts that are sent out to be repaired

Maintains implementation and tracking of maintenance cost savings

Maintains asset list and tracks reoccurring machine down time to build a predictive maintenance plan

Assigns work load according to tech level and skill set of the techs

Maintains inventory of repair/replacement parts and consumables in company’s management system

Orders repair/replacement parts and consumables based on min/max levels set in management system

Receives repair/replacement parts and consumables into company’s management system.

Maintains tracking of part costs to assets to track machine up keep cost.
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS (Skills & Abilities)
Knowledge of building maintenance and construction techniques; of plumbing and heating systems; of sanitation, of electrical systems; of fire and safety regulations and procedures; of grounds maintenance; of welding techniques; of painting and carpentry; of steel fabrication.
Knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, both high and low voltage, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems associated with industrial machinery.
Skill in the use of tools and equipment.
Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications; to train others; to monitor the work of others; to develop effective work methods; to organize preventative maintenance programs; and to estimate work hours and plan work schedules.
TOOLS AND/OR EQUIPMENT USED:
Use of general hand tools, amp and volt meters, multi meters, pressure testing gauges, saws, drills, grinders, milling machine and other tools associated with manufacturing equipment.
Experience in general construction and general maintenance work. Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is generally preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
WORK EXPERIENCE: A minimum 2 years of experience working in a maintenance capacity at a manufacturing facility or other like minded industry. Experience working with a CMMS system is a must.
