Follow up and collect on all insurance, agencies and private pay claims that have not been paid. Maintain records of the status of each account, the reason for payment delay and the anticipated time of collection. Research and resubmit all no-pay insurance correspondence (denials)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in medical billing and coding
- Must have attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
- Ability to work effectively within role independently and with other team members
- Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner
- Good multi-tasker
- Ability to work under pressure
- Knowledge of insurance, especially Medicare and Medicaid, rules and guidelines
