Specific duties and responsibilities
- Implement quality systems, coordinate quality systems, on-going maintenance and continuous improvement projects.
- Ensure compliance of quality to all required standards including customer specific requirements
- Coordinate and perform (as required) internal process and system audits.
- Provide consultation upon request for quality system gap-analysis, benchmarking, and/or customer complaints.
- Train plant personnel in quality systems as required.
- Conduct regular warranty reviews with the production teams and the corporate warranty group ensuring corrective and preventive actions for any warranty concerns.
- Facilitate the consequent execution of error prevention, continuous improvement and problem solving by utilization of corporate tools (Problem Management Process, Top Quality reporting, warranty and field reviews)
- Regular update of internal, customer and supplier complaints in SAP Quality Module; generate failure cost reports and provide information on any relevant topics to top management.
- Create and update inspection plans for incoming purchased products. Train incoming inspectors and quality engineers on incoming inspection procedures. Review and improve incoming inspection activities.
- Create training documents on SAP Quality Module.
- Perform process capability studies on an ongoing basis to validate especial characteristics.
- Perform new supplier validation and monthly supplier evaluation to ensure effective corrective actions, failure prevention and continuous improvement.
- Review and approve supplier part documentation (PPAP).
- Evaluate failure risk analysis with production and development team for new launches as FMEA coordinator.
- Validate, document and publish lessons learned from positive and negative experiences, consolidate those lessons into Plant Standards and communicate these up to the North American and Global Lessons-Learned Committees.
- Develop and perform monthly quality metrics reporting to plant and corporate management.
- Perform Engineering Change evaluation and tracking reports for plant and Nafta.
- Carry out ongoing scrap analysis and scrap reduction activities.
- Adheres to all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and implements all necessary measures for work, health, and environmental protection within the range of responsibility.
