Miller-Tippens Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for reviewing plans and specifications, developing competitive bids, and creating conceptual cost estimates. This role involves working closely with the project team to develop realistic and attainable budgets for construction management projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Project Information Preparation: Create and distribute project information sheets to all relevant parties.

Subcontractor Coordination: Acquire multiple subcontractor bids to ensure estimated completeness and a competitive edge.

Bid Organization: Arrange the bid submission process to ensure timely delivery.

Cost Analysis: Analyze projects to determine the most cost-effective methods to achieve profit goals.

Team Coordination: Collaborate with the project management team to align estimates with project plans.

Phase Reporting: Prepare and submit phase reports within 5 days of receiving project documents.

Bid Documentation: Ensure all bid forms are accurate and comply with insurance and bond requirements.

Management Notification: Inform management of any potential concerns related to the project.

Estimate Development: Review and develop clear, accurate estimates starting with the phase report.

Scope Take-Offs: Perform take-offs for specific scopes to facilitate discussions with subcontractors.

Subcontractor Engagement: Foster relationships with subcontractors through effective communication and bid negotiation.

Timely Bid Submission: Ensure all bids are submitted on time.

Subcontractor Relations: Maintain and expand a network of reliable subcontractors.

Market Knowledge: Stay informed about changes in material prices and market conditions.

Database Maintenance: Maintain an updated database of subcontractors and materials.

Bid Invitations: Issue bid invitations to subcontractors and suppliers.

Management Reporting: Provide management with necessary reports.

Project Support: Assist Project Managers as needed and facilitate project handoff to the Operations department.

Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks; where applicable.
