Alpha Environmental Services, Inc. (Alpha) is a growing business in the environmental consulting and remediation. We are a full-service environmental consulting and remediation company for both commercial and residential properties. Our goal is to get the job done efficiently while protecting our client. We have been in business since 2000 and offer reliable work full-year around, with the chance to grow within the company for the right individual. We are looking for a reliable field technician to assist and eventually manage environmental projects such as underground storage tank decommissioning, sewer scoping and repair, radon testing and mitigation, mold investigation and treatment, and asbestos testing and abatement. Field labor including hand excavation, trenching, minor landscaping and other construction efforts comprise 90% or more of daily activities. In short, the position requires someone who shows up every day and looks to provide a quality first class service to our customers in a variety of residential and commercial projects. Any candidate with required construction experience and/or proven work ethic will be considered.
This position is specific to the Salem Branch of our company's operations and will require meeting in Salem area at start of each work day. As Salem Branch operations continue to expand, it is possible that this position will open additional opportunities for Salem operations.
Overview of Responsibilities: Demonstrate general construction knowledge. Excavate residential and commercial sites for utilities such as sewer, septic, and heating oil tanks. Work in confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces regularly and with minimal impact. Professional appearance, positive attitude and first-class customer service skills.
Requirements:
- Successful track record and minimum 3 years of experience in construction or Bachelor's degree in science-related field

- Must have valid driver's license and be comfortable driving work trucks with trailer without incident
Preferred requirements
- Experience with underground storage tanks, sewer installation, utilities, radon installation, and excavation, construction skills such as residential building
Typical Daily responsibilities:
- Perform remediation project design and construction, typically ranging from 3-10 hours
- Work is Monday-Friday, starting 6:30-7am (or on jobsite at 8am), ending when job is completed, usually between 3-5pm but can extend into evening
- Some office work could be expected at beginning and/or end of days including uploading pictures, completing reports for daily inspections using Alpha software (Microsoft Access), entering data/notes from work day
- Some flexibility in schedule is possible for those in school or that have other part-time jobs
Wage: Entry-level DOE between $18-22/hr. Skilled/experienced laborers who have valid drivers license, minimum 5 years construction experience or related environmental experience may start at $25+/hr DOE. Experienced asbestos abatement workers encouraged to apply.

This is expected to be a full-time position, which will require overtime during busy seasons. Candidate will be subject to background test and drug test within 90 days of initial employment.
