Associate Scientist – Molecular Biology- Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)

The Molecular Laboratory focuses on state-of-the-art technology for comprehensive nucleic acid studies, including PCR, next-generation sequencing (NGS) using Illumina, and 10X Genomics technologies and Elements Biosciences platforms. We are currently recruiting an Associate Scientist to work on NGS projects. A highly motivated individual who has relevant training and working experience in molecular biology or NGS is encouraged to apply.
Job Responsibilities and Skills:

Able to follow SOP to Isolate DNA/RNA and QA/QC samples using standard molecular methods of Qubit, Nonodrop and Agilent Bioanalyzer.

Skills for next-generation sequencing library preparations
-
Knowledgeable for the NGS applications of RNASq, whole exosome sequencing (WES), Chip-Seq, Single cell sequencing etc.

Skills to conduct experiments that require knowledge of molecular biology, PCR, cell-based assays, qPCR, and tissue cell culture techniques.

Laboratory data entry and data processing.

Assist in preparing SOPs and reports.

Performing other job-related duties as may be assigned and managing and supervising lab staff in the daily operational workload.

Daily routine laboratory management. Assist in the organization of the daily workload.
Requirements

BS/MS >2years in life sciences or medical field are required.

Solid background in molecular biology or biochemistry, molecular biology laboratory techniques, and documentation skills.

The ability to prioritize and complete tasks and forecast in advance for ongoing projects.

Capable of lab equipment operation and maintenance of common lab equipment.

Capable of lifting and moving boxes up to 40 pounds.

A willingness to work hard and be creative in a fast-paced environment.

Accurate laboratory data recording and data processing.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including the ability to learn new assays quickly and design new protocols.
