Job Description:
Paradigm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with (10-15) plus years of experience in building and facility/site mechanical HVAC and building plumbing consulting engineering. This position will work with a team of engineers and architects to design the mechanical and plumbing systems for buildings primarily at VA Medical Centers throughout the United States, in addition to design for other federal and private project work. The ideal candidate has federal healthcare facility mechanical systems experience, is able to travel to other states as needed for site investigations and construction observations, is self-motivated, has excellent communication both written and verbal skills, is proficient in Auto-Cad and Windows software as well as mechanical engineering HVAC design software. This person must be able to design and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Desired Experience:
- 10-15 plus years of experience as a mechanical engineer (Federal Healthcare Preferred)
- PE license
- Project Management Experience
- Interfacing with clients (VA Medical Centers)
- Cooling and heating systems for VA Medical Centers
- Plumbing Design for VA Medical Centers
- AutoCAD
- Windows software
The position is responsible for managing projects, designing, drawing, controlling the budget, and being involved in the design of the HVAC system (Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning) as well as plumbing design of VA Medical Centers throughout the United States. Additional duties of the position are as follows:
- Read and interpret blueprints and as-built drawings.
- Attend meetings and project confidence with clients (Sometimes out of state).
- Provide guidance and leadership to staff engineers as to the appropriate HVAC solutions on projects in various stages of design.
- Review submittals (shop drawings, etc.) to determine conformance with contract documents.
- Evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks
- Coordinate with other engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information
- Research and analyze customer design proposals specification, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
- Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
- Research, design, and evaluate mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, apply knowledge of engineering principles
- Provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems and needs
- Proficient in editing federal health care specifications

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
