We have an immediate opening for a bright, hard-working individual in our Finance group. This highly interactive position reports to the Valuation Manager and supports the members of the Pricing Committee and the senior executives in our clients’ Portfolio Management and Trading divisions. This role is an evolving and integral function of Financial Operations focused on NexPoint’s global valuation policies and procedures. Daily activity includes coordinating with portfolio managers and traders, third party valuation providers, internal IT, accounting and external auditors. Additionally, the role includes supporting the Valuation Manger and CFO on special project and group wide initiatives. We actively focus on process improvement, technology enhancements and closely track regulatory changes and updates.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and enhance global valuation processes

Compile, track, and maintain pricing and valuation data for global assets under management

Present findings to monthly Pricing Committee meetings

Develop, review, and improve internal pricing models for complex asset classes

Perform weekly and monthly variance analysis

Field internal and external inquiries for pricing support and methodology including but not limited to external auditors, pricing committees and reporting requirements under ASC 820

Review pricing sources and research third party providers

Back test pricing support and depth

Process documentation and control

Support special and ad hoc projects across the Finance group
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience within an investment company, Big 4 audit firm or comparable organization with a focus in treasury, finance and/or fund accounting

Strong organizational skills with ability to work independently and multi-task in a complex, fast-paced and deadline-driven environment

Excellent work ethic and professional habits

Must operate with a high sense of urgency

Advanced MS Excel and Access skills, accelerated verbal and written communication skills

Ability to isolate and analyze process improvement areas and communicate solutions to management
Education
-
BBA/BS required in Accounting, Finance or other relevant major

MPA/MBA and/or professional certifications (CPA, CFA, CIA, CMA, etc.) are preferred
