Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Materials Technician to join our team. As a Materials Technician, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to construction inspection, quality control, and data collection. Your expertise in analyzing materials and ensuring compliance with contracts and specifications will be crucial in maintaining the highest standards of quality in our projects.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and tests on construction materials, including masonry, concrete forming, and other building components
- Perform quality inspections to ensure materials meet project specifications and industry standards
- Collect data and maintain accurate records of test results and inspections
- Analyze test data to identify any deviations or issues that may impact project quality
- Collaborate with project teams to address any material-related concerns or challenges
- Assist in the development of quality control procedures and guidelines
- Monitor material inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in construction inspection or quality control is preferred
- Proven experience in materials testing, construction inspection, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of building materials, their properties, and testing methods
- Proficient in data collection and analysis techniques
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret specifications and contracts
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Good communication skills to effectively interact with project teams, contractors, and suppliers
