ABOUT THIS POSITION:
We are seeking a dynamic Grants & Contracts Manager to join our team, dedicated to empowering young individuals aged 16-24 through comprehensive workforce development programs. As a Grants & Contracts Manager, you will play a crucial role in preparing our students for successful entry into the workforce by managing the fiscal and administrative aspects of grants which fund YBB programming.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the external Finance team to execute tasks pertaining to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable via BILL.com and QuickBooks.
- Collaborate with the external Finance team and HR to manage grant allocation for employee and student payroll.
- Assist with financial reporting and budget tracking, including submitting all required financial reports, monthly/quarterly billings, income generation analysis.
- Develop financial processes, internal controls, and procedures in partnership with Program, Development and HR staff to ensure and enhance city/state/federal fiscal compliance and efficiency of contracts and grants.
- Partner with Programs and Development departments to maximize funding requests in new grant proposals.
- Develop and facilitate YBB staff trainings regarding processes and procedures as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Passion for advancing the mission of YouthBuild Boston and commitment to treating people of all backgrounds with respect and kindness.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3-4 years experience of financial analysis and reporting in a 501c3 nonprofit setting with fund accounting, public and private grant accounting, GAAP, and strong analytical skills.
- Prior experience with pre- and post-award federal grants and contracts procedures, experience with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR Part 200) required. Experience with the: Commonwealth of Massachusetts or City of Boston contracting preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and implement fiscal contract terms and conditions and operationalize compliance systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to use qualitative and quantitative data to drive organizational strategy.
- High degree of competence, initiative, communication, and self-management.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and assignments under time constraints and competing priorities.
