Job Description: We are seeking an ambitious and energetic Director to join our team. Reporting directly to the company President, you will play a vital role in managing day-to-day operations with a focus on communications and project management services. You will also identify and pursue new business development opportunities within the US Government market, develop and maintain client relationships, write proposals, manage contracts and employees, and contribute to ongoing business development and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of day-to-day business operations, including project management and strategic communications.
- Collaborate closely with the company President to coordinate and manage operational activities, serving as a trusted advisor and executing directives efficiently.
- Develop and implement integrated communications strategies spanning social media, media relations, email campaigns, and more.
- Build and maintain relationships with government clients, prime and sub-contractors, and other partners.
- Handle administrative tasks including documentation, reporting, and coordination of meetings and events.
- Oversee recruitment efforts, including interviewing and onboarding new employees, and manage training and development programs.
- Conduct employee performance assessments.
- Work with internal communications and project management teams to ensure project completion, client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and adherence to budgets and timelines.
- Identify and pursue new federal contract opportunities via platforms such as GSA and Sam.gov.
- Write compelling proposals tailored to client requirements to increase the P-Win for new contract opportunities.
- Manage the proposal process, ensuring compliance and timely submission.
- Optimize operational efficiency and project outcomes through effective resource management, including personnel, budgets, and subcontractors.
- Travel for work-related conferences and in-person client meetings as necessary.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proven experience in federal government contracting.
- Experience supporting the Veterans Affairs (VA) or other government agencies
- 7+ years in a strategic communications role developing program-level plans and project-specific artifacts.
- Business development experience in federal procurement.
- 7+ years in a leadership role overseeing operations and strategic communications.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and networking skills.
- Proposal writing and business development experience within federal government contracting.
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and government contracting.
- Experience with clients in the federal contracting space; strong speaking and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior military service.
- Government consulting experience.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in capture and proposal processes.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on compliance and accuracy in proposal writing.
Compensation:
- Base pay + Operational performance bonus and Business development bonus.
