Hours: Full-time, 7:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promotes and facilitates a strong Safety culture within the plant.
- Leads all aspects of Safety at ESPEC North America. Acts as safety point person; identifies potential safety hazards, communicates potential solutions, manages/conducts required safety training.
- Manages workers compensation; coordinates treatment, manages claims, performs investigations, updates OSHA log.
- Ensures compliance with ESPEC North America EHS policies and procedures, OSHA and State-run OSHA programs, EPA, DEQ regulations, and customer EHS requirements.
- Works closely with operators, leads, and leadership to ensure EHS compliance and drive EHS results.
- Implements EHS programs and initiatives.
- Identifies and mitigate hazards through a collaborative and teaching effort.
- Maintains Environmental Permits and submit environmental reports as needed.
- Investigates and manage incidents and near misses.
- 50% Desk Work (developing policies, procedures, training initiatives, audits, and compliance programs).
- 50% Walking the plant, engaging with all levels of personnel, educating, auditing, and compliance testing.
- Actively support leadership by identifying initiatives, gaps in performance, and coach team members to develop a strong safety culture.
- Actively participates in emergency preparedness management.
- Assists with injury and event investigations.
- Assists with training and onboarding of staff.
- Coaches staff on identifying, communicating, and mitigating near misses.
- Maintain and conduct EHS program training to continuously strive for enhanced performance.
- Maintains and updates safety data sheets; performs chemical inventories.
- Provide coaching on essential, safe habits to team members.
- Partners with Purchasing to plan, budget, and schedule facilities modifications including cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts and vendor contract review for maintenance services.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in EHS or related field required.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Management, or related field, preferred.
- Two (2) to Five (5) years previous EHS and safety management program experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must possess knowledge of both OSHA and EHS regulations.
- Must have experience with workers compensation and claims management.
- Limited out of state travel may be required.

Pay: $69,638.00 - $78,353.00 per year
