The Treatment Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the office by managing patient records, coordinating treatment plans, and providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities:
- Manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes
- Coordinate treatment plans with dentists and specialists, ensuring timely scheduling of appointments and necessary follow-ups
- Educate patients on treatment options, financial responsibilities, and insurance coverage
- Assist with patient assessment, including taking vital signs and updating medical information
- Utilize Open Dental software to schedule appointments, manage patient information, and process billing
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information
- Provide excellent customer service to patient families, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Assist with dental coding for insurance claims and maintain accurate billing records
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in dental assisting or healthcare administration is a plus
- Proven experience working in a dental office with insurance, scheduling, and collections
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and dental procedures
- Proficiency in using Open Dental or similar dental practice management software
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining patient records
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, dentists, and other team members
