Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse interacts with member, caregivers, and physicians to ensure that the
health/medical needs of the participants are met on a daily basis. The Registered Nurse works
under the direction of the Nursing Director.
Qualifications:
- Desire to work with seniors and other adults with disabilities
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice *
- Excellent communication skills
- Minimum one-year experience in a health care setting
- Satisfactory references, criminal background check, drug screen and sanction
check
Responsibilities:
I) Internal sales process
a. Interacts with participants and caregivers to promote customer satisfaction, retention, and utilization.
b. Participates in the internal sales process as directed by the Program Director
II) Medical Management
a. Participates in obtaining information for the Life History Profile as directed by the Nursing Director
b. Completes the Initial Nursing Assessment on new participants as directed
c. Provides ongoing assessment of participants and notifies Nursing Director of any
changes observed
d. Administers medications and treatments as per physician orders and per Active Life ADHC LLC’s policies and procedures
e. Participates in the care planning process/treatment plan creation/documentation
f. Assigns and provides assistance with toileting schedules, personal care, and other Activity of Daily Living assistance as needed
g. Maintains documentation/member records according to organizational policies and procedures and various regulatory agencies
h. Communicates with caregivers/physicians as appropriate for coordination of care
i. Takes physician orders, prepares recertifications and assists in tracking the
return of signed physician orders
j. Assists the ND in the oversight of food services
k. Participates in the management of absenteeism under the direction of the ND
l. Provides relief for the ND as appropriate
(III) Operations – The staff nurse is counted in the member to staff ratio
a. Participates in leading activities as directed by the ND or PD
(Percentage of time determined by PD)
b. Participates in the orientation of new staff participants as directed by the ND
c. Participates in staff in services as directed by the ND
d. Performs other duties as assigned
IV) Compliance
a. Abides by the standards identified in Active Life ADHC LLC’s Compliance Plan, HIPAA Plan and Keys to Success.

Language and Communications Skills:
Advanced interpersonal and communication skills to secure cooperation, interpret policies, exchange information, and provide professional judgments in continuous contact with management personnel, colleague managers and other employees, contacts with medical staff, and representatives of outside agencies or groups, clients, families, vendors and public. Works with a range of adult clients of various ages with multiple types of health care needs. Ability to listen attentively and speak clearly and distinctly in receiving and responding to inquiries.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Training and certification in CPR within the first six (6) months of employment and recertification as required. Annually each employee must have a PPD test or be determined to be free of symptoms of tuberculosis if there was a previous positive PPD.
