York College (NY), an NCAA Division III institution and member of the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC), is seeking an individual to serve as Head Women's Soccer Coach (Part-Time). Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this position is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the Women’s Soccer team including coaching, recruiting, practice planning and preparation, competition scheduling, fundraising, strength & conditioning, developing annual service/engagement projects for student-athletes, as well as all phases of student-athlete mentoring and evaluation, academic monitoring, providing direction to assistant coaches and team managers, and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities of all Positions at York Athletics:
- Adhere to York College, York Athletics, The City University of New York (CUNY), The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC), and NCAA policies and procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of departmental activities, sports schedules, and procedures.
- Foster cooperative working relationships with immediate supervisor and staff members who work within or outside the work unit.
- Support the athletics department goals and philosophies as described by the Director of Athletics and work to achieve and uphold the department’s mission statement and core values.
- Maintain a positive attitude toward performing job duties and in working with other staff members.
- Demonstrate professional decorum at all times while representing York Athletics.
- Must have proven recruiting ability and success.
- Successfully pass and maintain up-to-date first aid/CPR/AED certification.
- Must successfully pass and maintain annual NCAA Recruiting exam.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution. Prior experience coaching soccer as well as experience playing soccer at the collegiate level. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Position Responsibilities Include:
- Provide practice preparation, planning, supervision and execution.
- Recruitment of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.
- Successful coordination of all practice and game day activities during primary & non-traditional sport seasons.
- Exemplify excellent leadership and proper code of conduct throughout all phases of the competitive seasons, including pre-and-post season.
- Work to ensure the ultimate welfare and safety of the student-athletes and their educational goals.
- Demonstrate an explicit understanding of all NCAA Division III and CUNYAC conference rules, regulations, policies & procedures.
- Attend all home and away contests.
- Meet NCAA minimum contests and participants requirements for sports sponsorship for the academic year. Adequate roster expectations are set to a minimum of at least 18 student-athletes for 13 regular season contests.
- Abide by all policies, practices, and philosophies of the York College Intercollegiate Athletics Program, York College, and City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC).
