Seeking a seasoned and knowledgeable Senior Living Community Manager to oversee the operations of our new Independent senior living community. This role requires a strong grasp of landlord-tenant laws, particularly as they pertain to senior living, along with a commitment to maintaining exceptional service standards, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and meeting corporate occupancy and financial objectives.
Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
- Collaborate with community and corporate staff to manage all facets of senior living community operations for Independent Living in addition to Maintenance and Culinary departments for the campus.
- Evaluate departmental performance, interpret policies, provide constructive feedback, and support, coach, or take disciplinary action as necessary.
Compliance and Legal Adherence in Senior Living:
- Ensure strict adherence to State regulations related to senior living, including landlord-tenant laws, residents' rights, and employment laws and company policies.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of senior living regulations and ensure compliance within the community.
Senior Living Experience and Team Management:
- Foster a compassionate and supportive environment tailored to senior residents' needs, maintaining appropriate staffing levels, and promoting high team morale.
- Implement comprehensive training programs focused on senior care and wellbeing, minimizing staff turnover, and encouraging professional growth.
Financial Management within Senior Living:
- Develop and manage the budget, monitoring costs to align with established guidelines and specific needs in senior living.
- Collaborate with corporate and community accounting departments to manage financial matters effectively, including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and safeguarding community funds.
Marketing and Occupancy Strategies for Senior Living:
- Stay updated on senior living market trends and devise strategic marketing plans to maintain maximum occupancy tailored to the needs of seniors.
- Cultivate positive relationships within the senior community to enhance the community's reputation and desirability.
Additional Duties in Senior Living:
- Perform additional duties as assigned that contribute to the efficient functioning and exceptional care within the senior living community.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Comprehensive understanding and experience in senior living regulations and landlord-tenant laws.
- Effective communication with senior residents, medical professionals, family members, and various local community and government agencies.
- Hold evidence of first aid training for adults and current CPR certification for adults.
- College degree preferred, with a minimum of two years of college education.
- Prior experience in senior living or gerontology is highly advantageous.
- Public relations background is beneficial.
Experience:
- Minimum of five years in a managerial role with hiring and firing authority, specifically within senior living communities.
- Two years of experience managing financial controls or budgets within senior living contexts.
- At least one year of experience in a licensed health-related service facility or agency specifically dedicated to senior care or hands-on care experience with seniors preferred.
- A plus if you have an Assisted-Living license
Special Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to manage staffing and employee-related issues effectively within a senior living context.
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications tailored to senior living operations.
- Excellent communication skills, especially in catering to the needs and concerns of senior residents.
- Ability to respond to various emergencies and work full-time, being available seven days a week, 24 hours per day to address urgent matters or communications pertaining to the senior living community.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to perform various physical tasks specifically suited to senior care, such as assisting with mobility and daily living activities.
- Effective communication through verbal and written means, responding to seniors' needs and concerns.
- Maintain composure in stressful situations and ability to discern the specific sensory needs of senior residents.
