Job Description:
AbbyBank is seeking a motivated Personal Banker/Consumer Lender to join our team in Abbotsford. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, facilitating account openings, and processing consumer loan applications in accordance with established policies. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist customers, both new and existing, in opening deposit accounts and related services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services to enhance customer relationships.
- Proficiently use software applications for deposit account management and credit reporting; willingness to adapt to new technologies as needed.
- Provide expertise on IRA rules and regulations, assisting customers with IRA transactions and inquiries.
- Handle customer inquiries regarding Internet Banking, ensuring adherence to security protocols.
- Understand legal considerations related to account management, such as titling restrictions and beneficiary rights.
- Maintain knowledge of consumer lending practices and assist with Over-Draft Protection (ODP) as required.
- Proactively prospect and originate Small Business and Retail growth opportunities, adhering to quality and profitability standards.
- Develop relationships with Municipal/Institutional and Non-Profit entities to expand banking services.
- Participate in on-site visits for product demonstrations, setup, and ongoing support.
- Conduct thorough loan interviews, accurately completing loan applications and managing documentation for loan closings.
- Stay updated on banking regulations and security procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of retail banking experience.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Positive attitude with a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
- Strong presentation skills for customer sales calls.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software applications.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Effective listening skills to identify and address customer needs.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Ability to represent the bank in a professional manner at all times.
