HR & Training and Development Director
Position Classification: Employee; Part-time, Non-exempt
Days/Hours: Monday-Friday/30 hours per week
Reporting Location: The Kingdom Church – West Campus/Hybrid
Salary Range: $18-$25/hour
Overall Responsibilities
The primary function of the Human Resources and Training/Development Director is to oversee the recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, personnel tasks, and off-boarding of staff and serve as a link between TKC as an organization and its employees. The HR and T/D Director also oversee training programs at every level at TKC. They are responsible for creating or selecting course content and materials for training programs. Training may be in the form of a video, self-guided instructional manual, or online application and delivered in person or through an electronic device. Training also may be collaborative, with employees informally connecting with experts, mentors, and colleagues, often through social media or other online mediums. This manager must ensure that training methods, content, software, systems, and equipment are appropriate. The training and development manager teach training methods to other managers and ministry leads who, in turn, instruct the organization’s employees, contractors, and volunteers. They work with executives to identify and match training priorities with overall TKC goals.
LIST OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administrates the payroll for church employees and contractors
- Administrates benefits (Health, Retirement, and Life Insurance) for eligible employees and contractors
- Work with the accountant and contract payroll company to ensure part-time and full-time church employees and contractors are paid on the established schedule. (bi-weekly)
- Assures the church’s compliance with federal and state labor laws
- Lead the human relations function for church including development, documentation, and communication of policies and procedures.
- Track and maintain changes needed to Employee and Contractor Manuals to be issued annually
- Establish and administer a staff compensation program including job descriptions, salary ranges, and semi-annual employee evaluation reviews and adjustment
- Maintain personnel records (changes in position, compensation, verification, discipline action, etc.) to ensure the church complies with all state and federal employment laws.
- Notify managers of semi-annual performance reviews due. Store results properly in personnel folder (Dropbox) for employees and contractors
- Develop, document, and administrate a church recruiting process
- Lead process of on-boarding and off-boarding employees
- Administrate interviewing and hiring process
- Respond to staff’s inquiries on policies, procedures, benefits, PTO, LOA, payroll, insurance, tax forms
- Support staff in the development of training and employee development programs and processes such as training classes, recommended conference and event attendance, and performance improvement plans.
- Assess employees’ needs for training and align training with TKC’s goals
- Create annual training budget and manage spending to budget by following TKC Procurement Process
- Develop and implement “in-house” training programs, at minimum every quarter
- Review and select training materials from a variety of vendors
- Update training programs to ensure that they are relevant
- Teach training methods and skills to instructors and supervisors
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training, sessions, programs and instructors with participant surveys or feedback and an HR Director’s assessment.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings, devotions and monthly meeting with Lead Pastor

Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in business or a related field or equivalent experience (required)
- Two years of human resources experience (required)
- SHRM or other HR Certification (a plus)
