We are looking for an experienced Welder who will use MIG, TIG, and Robotic skill to manufacture parts and assemblies as required, meeting defined specifications and production schedules.
SHIFT SCHEDULES AVALIABLE:
- Weekend 1st Shift: Fridays - Sundays; 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM (Work 36, be paid for 40!)
- Overtime when needed
All candidates will be given a weld skills assessment at time of the interview; including MIG and TIG welding and reading and interpreting fabrication blueprints. You must have your own welding gear (helmet & gloves) for the interview process and if hired at PMI.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build welded assemblies to print and established production and quality standards
- Preparing and setup of necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs
- Arranging of parts for welding and staging processes
- Review of finished assemblies & parts to ensure accuracy against drawings/prints
- Report fabrication and quality issues and assist in resolutions as required
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grid or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding
- Remove spatter from workpieces, using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers
- Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits
- Recognize, operate, and set up, to manually MIG Weld metal segments, using processes such as gas metal arc
- Prepare all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter
- Fill holes and perform weld up to ¼” in the flat position of mild steel parts
- Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors
- Set up welders (connect and turn regulator valves to activate and adjust gas flow and pressure so that desired flames are obtained) to produce quality welds/parts
- Clean or degrease parts and equipment, using proper cleaning supplies
- Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required
- Position and secure completed workpieces using banding machines or hand tools
- Operating other necessary equipment and performing tasks necessary to complete parts to specifications
- Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- 1+ years recent, minimum experience MIG & TIG welding in a professional environment; required
- 1+ years recent, minimum experience reading and interpreting complex weld blueprints; required
- Proven ability to produce parts that meet the quality requirements consistently; required
- Strong math skills
- Ability to work autonomously with little supervision
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and tooling
- Able to work as part of a team
- Good communication skills
