The Communications Coordinator supports both communications and grants at the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, providing essential systems organization, coordination of our social media presence, and creation of a variety of documents and announcements. This position reports to the Chief Communications Officer.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
· Monitor Feeding America and CAFB’s branding guidelines across all CAFB and third-party created content
· Update minor website changes regarding staffing, events, and personnel
· Maintain grantor files (electronic organization)
· Manage the grant funding calendar and portfolio of current grants
· Prepare quarterly and annual grant activity reports
· Research current and prospective grantors and funding patterns
· Support grant funder recognition projects, such as press releases, newsletter articles, website updates, and social media posts (all platforms)
· Write all grant applications for amounts $7500 and below.
· Maintain an active social media presence across all CAFB’s channels to educate the public about hunger, food insecurity, and related causes
· Maintain organizational social media calendar
· Monitor, analyze, and report social media metrics and advise on actionable insights
· Identify and track brand mentions online
· Maintain and manage photo, video, and logo libraries
· Maintain library of materials needed for public speaking engagements accessible to all staff
· Update and track communications inside CAFB facilities
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, writing, marketing, or other related field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofreading and editing
- Strong preference for bilingual (Spanish/English) fluency
- Excellent MS Office skills and experience using various technology platforms to streamline processes.
- Superior organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects
- Keen attention to detail
· Strong graphic design skills, preferred
· Working knowledge of popular social media networks
The Communications Coordinator will work collaboratively with staff members, volunteers, donors, and key stakeholders to fully execute the mission of the Food Bank. This position will occasionally be required to work events which may be on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends.

Pay: $42,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
