**Job Summary**
We are seeking a skilled and caring Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in assisting dentists in the delivery of patient care, with a focus on providing a comfortable and welcoming environment for all patients. The EFDA will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including preparing patients for treatment, maintaining infection control protocols, and supporting the administrative functions of the dental office.
**Duties**
- Assist the dentist with patient care, including preparing patients for treatment, taking vital signs, and positioning patients for x-rays and other procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized dental office, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring all equipment and instruments are sterilized and stored properly.
- Provide exceptional customer service, communicating effectively with patients and ensuring they feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit.
- Utilize Dentrix, dental practice management software, to manage patient records and schedule appointments.
- Maintain knowledge of medical coding and aseptic technique to ensure compliance with dental office standards.
- Perform other duties as required by the dental office, including assisting with dental procedures, handling dental supplies, and supporting the overall smooth operation of the office.
**Experience**
- Previous experience as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant is required.
- Valid x-ray certification required.
- Knowledge of Dentrix dental practice management software is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in dental assisting or a related field is preferred.

- Proficiency in Dentrix and experience with infection control protocols.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $24.00 per hour
